REVIEW
A Book A Day Presents: Color Theory is a beautiful anthology of 17 stories written by different authors to spread the message that love does not depend on ethnicity, just two hearts and a connection. Couples coming together amongst diversity and love. I have read two stories so far and what I really liked was it was focused on the characters, not the color of their skin. Out of the 17, 15 are new to me authors and I look forward to reading each of one of their contributions.
Coming to Sapphire Creek by Carmen Cook
BLURB: Deanna Chase works hard. As a single mom, she takes her responsibilities seriously…except one night she escaped reality in the strong arms of a stranger. Sebastian Dunn is out of the Army and ready to settle down into a quiet life in a small town. But he has one more mission to run. To find out if the sparks he felt all those years ago were just a one-time thing, or if he can convince Deanna to take a chance on love.
I enjoyed Carmen’s contribution. A small town setting with friends and family who take care of each other. Sebastian is new to town but soon learns the town will make sure Deanna will be treated right. This is a second chance romance. I liked the characters and plot. Seem like I was sitting down with friends.
Sienna’s Sentinel by Lori Ryan
Lori Ryan brings heart-stopping suspense and heart-warming romance with this story set in her upcoming HALO Security series. Bodyguard Boon Montgomery hasn’t seen his childhood friend, Sienna Evans, in more than a decade, but that doesn’t mean he ever stopped thinking of her. And it sure doesn’t mean he’s not going to do all he can to keep her safe now she’s in the crosshairs of a bigot who looks ready to take his anger at the world out on Sienna.
In this childhood friends to lover’s romance, the couple reunites when Sienna is in need of bodyguard and she seeks out her old friend Boon. Sienna is a reminder to his painful childhood which he wants to forget, but the chemistry is there and he has to protect her. Once she is no longer in danger and she no longer needed a bodyguard, he doesn’t want to let her go. enjoyed the suspense, the characters connection, and romance.
