Wrenched apart by tragedy, they’re brought back together by love.
The Wreck is a New York Times and USA Today bestseller!
Carly Holbrook and Brian Westbury are weeks away from their high school graduation. The young couple plans to marry before they head to college, and their future seems bright with promise. Everything changes one spring night when their six closest friends, including Brian’s younger brother, are killed in a fiery car accident that Carly and Brian witness. The trauma leaves Carly unable to speak, and Brian is forced to make unimaginable decisions about a future that once seemed so certain. With Carly incapable of going forward with their plans, Brian leaves home—and Carly—for good. Fifteen years later, disturbing new clues indicate the accident that wrecked so many lives wasn’t an accident at all, bringing Brian home to face a past——and a love——he’s never forgotten.

REVIEW
An Emotional Rollercoaster
The Wreck is a heartbreaking tale of pain, suffering, lost, and true love. Set in a small town, this is a second chance love story with mystery and suspense. It is an intense read, and may be difficult for some to read. A story of two lives that have been ruined by the loss of 6 others. A few surprising twists that I didn’t see coming. I advise that you don’t read this out in public. I cried throughout the book which is a sign of a great writer that makes you feel all the feels. The suffering is balanced by a true, never-ending love. The ending was a bit off for me. I think the villain got sloppy at the climax which didn’t match his scheming for years, and the actions of Carly seemed out of character. I did enjoy the love story of Carly and Brian and the of their journey back to each other.
I first read this back in January 2013.
I did a reread for an upcoming book club read (https://www.facebook.com/marieforcebookclub).
The Wreck is an earlier book in Marie’s outstanding writing career.
