The Chocolate Comeback by Roxanne Snopek
Love at the Chocolate Shop series, book 7
Tule Publishing, April 6, 2017
Romance/Clean & Wholesome/small town
MY REVIEW:
One thing I liked about The Chocolate Comeback is the main female character. She isn’t perfect, she wasn’t a nice person growing up, she was the shallow, pretty girl, with few if any friends. She returns home to Marietta as an unsuccessful ex-model who finds herself having to eat crow with some of the people of her hometown who she had written off. Isaac, the lead male, new to Marietta, finds himself in need of a aid for his brother Mark, who has down syndrome. He’s not sold on DeeDee at first, but she inserts herself and she’s really good for his brother. Another thing that drew me to this story, is the way DeeDee treats Mark. She introduces him to new people, places, doing new things, building his self-esteem and expanding his comfort zone. The author wrote a really enjoyable addition to the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. Though this story is centered around the sensitive topic of special needs, it is a really fun read. The community of small town Marietta comes out in full force to support those that need it, welcoming new residents, and giving those that need a second chance, an opportunity for a comeback. The plot is paced perfectly as the trust and attractions grows. Very well written with playful, amusing banter between the characters.
BLURB:
Fame, fortune and fashion: that’s aspiring model Deirdre Cash’s ideal life. But when her splashy New York career dries up, she swallows her pride and returns to Marietta, Montana, desperate for any work she can find. Isaac Litton doesn’t want the intrusion of a home care aide for his brother, Mark. But when the young man takes a shine to DeeDee, Isaac decides to give her a chance. He can’t help but be impressed when DeeDee changes his brother’s life around, by rewarding healthy habits and exercising with treats from the Copper Mountain Chocolate Shop. Gorgeous and opinionated, DeeDee stirs everything up in the Litton household, including an attraction that Isaac can’t deny. As DeeDee and Isaac start to fall for each other, an unexpected opportunity arises that could launch DeeDee back into the modeling scene. It’s her chance to achieve everything she’s ever wanted. But taking it would mean letting down her friends at the chocolate shop, her family who believes in her, a boy who adores her, and a man who thinks she’s already perfect, just the way she is.

From the Author
Did you know that THE CHOCOLATE COMEBACK is also part of my Montana Home series? It and THE CHOCOLATE CURE pick up where CINDERELLA’S COWBOY leaves off, following the lives of Maddie and DeeDee Cash, stepsisters to Cynthia “Cinderella” Henley. Readers loved Cynthia and Chad in CINDERELLA’S COWBOY and they loved to “hate” Cyn’s blissfully self-centered twin stepsisters. Now you can find out why Maddie and DeeDee are the way they are… and how giving up everything they thought they wanted will help them become more than they ever dreamed they could be. And maybe find love along the way, too.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR ROXANNE SNOPEK writes contemporary small-town romance, usually with a dollop of crazy, and a dog or three or four. Praised for her strong heroines and true-to-life heroes, her stories always contain complications arising from modern family dynamics. As a former veterinary technician, mother of three grown daughters and wife of mumble-mumble years, animals, kids and husbands are her forte. Emotional conflict, tears, angst… those wretched “growth-opportunity” moments your friends comfort you about… that’s what she writes, and readers love it. She lives and writes from the Pacific Northwest and loves to hear from booklovers.
