A wonderful book filled with facts about familiar insects as discovered by a caterpillar. The story is accompanied by close-up photographs. What I really liked is that it is not too wordy – it will keep the attention of children it’s geared for. At the end of the book are activities designed for 3-5 year olds. Good size book with sturdy pages.

Lauren Davidson was born in a small town in nowhere, Texas and grew up studying insects and their relatives. Though the technical term to describe her would be “entomologist”, she prefers the term “bug mom”. Her days are filled with unpacking butterfly shipments, cleaning out cockroach exhibits, and giving outreach presentations to kids. She has three dogs and 2 birds, oh… and a husband. You can find her on Facebook, the Gram, and her website by her other name, bugsologist.
