“..for accepting who and what I am, and for the right reasons.”
Set in the gritty world of organized crime, Ian and Heather have an instant attraction and a fast and furious romance. The characters are interesting and developed as well as the storyline. It was easy to escape to the mafia lifestyle as you quickly turn the pages to see what’s going to happen next. I really liked the strong independent Heather who stood up to not only Ian’s best friend, but also his mother. The handsome and sexy Ian falls fast for Heather while in town to expand his family business. Though he kept pushing his promises to her off so he could take care of others he still made sure she was safe and taken care of. He was able to switch back and forth between being the enforcer when needed for his job to gentle lover and protector to Heather. A good read though I probably would have enjoyed it even more if I had read the previous books in the series. It can be read as a standalone. Characters from previous books were mentioned and I’m a reader that likes to have read all the background stories involved. This was the first book I read by this author but it won’t be my last as I now want to read all the previous books in the series.
