To Save His Family, She May Be His Only Hope

A Strong-willed Woman

Working for the shadowy division of the Grey Justice Group is the perfect job for Kathleen Callahan. Compartmentalizing and staying detached is her specialty. Get in, do the job, get out, her motto. Wealthy businessman Eli Slater is the only man to penetrate her implacable defenses and she fights to resist him at every turn.

A Tenacious Man

Eli Slater has worked hard to overcome his family’s past and repair the damage they caused. A new light comes into his life in the form of security specialist Kathleen Callahan. Even though she rejects him and everything he makes her feel, Eli is relentless in his pursuit, determined to make her his own.

An Evil No One Saw Coming

Darkness has a way of finding and destroying light and Eli learns his family’s troubles are far from over. Dealing with threats and attempts on his own life is one thing but when those he loves are threatened, it’s a whole new game. And he’ll stop at nothing to win.

But evil has a familiar face, along with an unimaginable goal of destruction, putting both Eli and Kathleen in the crosshairs and threatening the happiness they never believed they’d find.

(Reviewed January 28, 2016)

The second book in the Grey Justice series features Eli Slater who has repaired the damage his father and older brother created and is working to restore his family name.  He is a hands-on father who will do whatever he has to do to protect his children.  Kathleen Callahan is seeking justice for her sister’s murder charge and comes to Eli’s attention via a news report. He is captivated and fascinated by her. With the help from his friend Grey Justice and a bit of manipulation from Eli, Kathleen finds herself working with Eli along with Grey Justice to find out who is threatening his family. Little do they know, Kathleen is also a target. Nick and Kennedy Gallagher, book ones’ hero and heroine, are also assisting with their expertise. Grey and Irelyn are not as prominent in this book but there’s enough in there to keep you guessing on their past and wanting more from them. While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading book 1, Nothing to Lose to get the full backstory. Christy is a wonderful writer who stories draw you in and leave you breathless. She consistently delivers great romantic suspense novels. The story keeps you enthralled and is a page turner. One of the many things you can expect from a Christy Reece novel is that they are full of “meat”. So many twists, turns, surprises, and suspense. To me, she does not produce a once read and done novel. There’s much to mull over and are thrilling to read.

Grey Justice Group

There’s more than one path to justice

Justice isn’t always swift or fair and only those who have felt the pain of denied justice can truly understand its bitter taste. But justice delayed doesn’t have to be justice denied. Enter the Grey Justice Group, ordinary citizens swept up in extraordinary circumstances. Led by billionaire philanthropist Grey Justice, this small group of operatives gains justice for victims when other paths have failed.

Book 1:  Nothing to Lose

Book 2:  Whatever it Takes

Book 3: Too Far Gone

Book 4: Matter of Justice

Growing up in a tiny Alabama community boasting only one stop sign and a gas station gave Christy ample opportunity to create daring adventures in her head. When she wasn’t thinking of her story characters, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys kept her entertained and out of trouble. Later came the chills of Stephen King and the thrills of John Grisham, but the romance genre always held a strong place in her heart.

When she’s not writing or spending time with her wonderful family, she still loves to read. A suspenseful story full of drama, angst, suspense, mystery, and romance is still her favorite. Throw in a happy ever after and she is one happy camper.

Christy lives in Alabama with her husband and a menagerie of fur-kids.
