Nicki Darren takes a short-term job helping Quincy Ryan, who has just moved to Marietta with his diabetic father and his four-year-old son that he just found out about. Nicki and Quincy are two very different personalities that fight their growing attraction. The star of this holiday romance is the advent tree calendar Nicki makes for Atlas. Through the calendar the charm and Christmas spirit of Marietta is showcased. Quincy is also able to connect with his son and embrace his new role of being a father as they enjoy the activities from the calendar.
I hadn’t read any prior books in this series and didn’t feel like I missed out on enjoying this story because of that. I liked that the chapters are by date, mostly following the advent tree theme. The epilogue was special as we caught up with the family two years later. The author also supplies a link to make an Advent Calendar similar to the one in the story. Note: I received this book from Tule Publishing through Net Galley and am voluntarily reviewing it.
