Book Review: Holding My Breath by Harper Dell

Love Bites series: Halloween

A quick enjoyable read.

“He was too good to be true and too awful to even think about.”

Attraction sparks when Claire is commissioned to create a sculpture for Heath, a respected businessman and art collector. Claire soon discovers that Heath is not everything he seems and her instinct is to run from him. What follows is an enjoyable story of desire and passion with ups and downs. While this a quick read it is a complete and engaging story. The characters are interesting and developed. I will definitely read A Soldier’s Kiss (released earlier this year) and eagerly await her next book in this series.

I received a free copy of this book from the author, but was not required to write a review or influenced in terms of my review.

“Holding my Breath is a Halloween story that is part of the Love Bites family of books. These fast-paced, standalone holiday romances offer that perfect bit of ‘me time’. Also in the Love Bites family is A Soldier’s Kiss for some Fourth of July fireworks.“

Heath may be half vampire, but he’s one hundred percent hot-blooded male. Claire’s a sculptor and runs on emotion, but she’s not about to let falling for a man mess up everything she’s worked so hard for – least of all one who could change her destiny. When Heath commissions Claire to create a marble statue in time for Halloween, he insists she work at his house. As her masterpiece develops, so too does the attraction between them. But Claire soon discovers Heath is not what he seems. He is a man at once too good to be true and too awful to even think about. Her instinct is to run from him, but how can she run from a man who has crept inside her soul? If she stays, her life will change forever, unless she can find a way to change his… This modern day Beauty and the Beast gives you front row seats on a sensual rollercoaster of desire and passion.
