I adore this series. Getting a book in the Gansett Island series usually is a guaranteed comfort read for me and leaves me loving this series all over again. Those that follow my blog will probably be shocked that I rated a Marie Force book a 3. Unfortunately this latest book was a bit off for me. Maybe just too many couples to hear about (though these characters are friends to me and I have to know how they’re doing), it just seemed too much. I get that sometimes a recap on how the characters came to be is needed, it just seems to be constantly mentioned in every book and takes up a lot of pages. There has been a book in the past that is an update on all characters that read wonderfully, just not so much with this one. I usually read a Gansett book in a day or two; as it’s hard to put down. This one took a while for me to finish. Still an overall good read, the residents still step up for one another, the island still has magically healing powers; I just wanted more of a story.
